OSWEGO – At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved the bid ($1,122,395) submitted by W.D. Malone Trucking and Excavating for the construction portion of the Downtown Oswego Route 104 Complete Streets Project.

The city was awarded $1.5 million for the project through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and the Transportation Alternative Program.

The work will enhance pedestrian and vehicular traffic safety along the Port City’s main street, the mayor explained.

The targeted work zone will be West First to West Third along Route 104, Mayor Billy Barlow said.

Construction will start simultaneously with the Water Street pocket park improvements on April 8.

The contractor will have the work completed by Harborfest, he added.
