OSWEGO, NY – On Wednesday, at approximately 7:35 p.m. the city of Oswego Police Department was dispatched to West Albany Street and West Second Street for a reported car-bicyclist motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2001 Chevrolet vehicle driven by 37-year-old Robert G Allen Jr, from the city of Oswego, had allegedly struck a bicyclist as the vehicle traveled westbound on West Albany Street and as the bicyclist was riding southbound on West Second Street.
The struck bicyclist, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to Upstate University Hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries, according to the police report.
A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Robert G Allen Jr, on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal of a Breath Screening Device.
Allen is currently being held at the Oswego Police Department pending arraignment in the Oswego City Court.
