HASTINGS – State Police in Hastings are investigating a one car fatal crash that occurred around 1 p.m. today (Nov. 6) on Salt Road in the town of Constantia.
The preliminary investigation has revealed a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup operated by Terence J. Fries, 52, from Bernhardt Bay, was headed south on Salt Road when it left the roadway for an unknown reason.
The vehicle then struck a tree on the east side of the roadway and continued approximately 100 feet down an embankment.
Mr. Fries suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
