UPDATE

COUNTY’S PUBLIC STATEMENT REGARDING LEGISLATOR SHAWN DOYLE

The county is aware of the arrest of Legislator Shawn Doyle, District 3, Pulaski, which occurred this morning, October 26.

Oswego County does not have details about the situation, nor do we discuss ongoing investigations as a matter of policy.

A founding principal of our criminal justice system is the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven.

Following this belief, and out of respect for Legislator Doyle, we will not comment on this matter.

PULASKI SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT STATEMENT ON JOHN MARONEY

Pulaski Community,

The Pulaski Academy & Central School District received information this morning, Thursday, October 26, 2017, from the New York State Troopers that a school-based counselor working at Pulaski MSHS through the Northern Oswego County Health Services, Inc. (NOCHSI) has been arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of false written statement.

The school district has worked with NOCHSI and the employee has been placed on administrative leave. This is to say that all duties the counselor had associated with the Pulaski Academy & Central School District and its students have been suspended.

The safety and well-being of our students is always the highest priority in our schools. We are shocked and dismayed by this allegation and will be working to support all of our students.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Brian Hartwell
