UPDATE – Woman’s Body Discovered — No Suspicious Activity Suspected

Update (June 10, 2019)

Preliminary investigations do not lead us to believe there was any suspicious activity, Police Chief Tory DeCaire said.

But, with the conditions that we faced and the location of the body, we are following all of the necessary steps to confirm this, he added.

Oswego police are currently working with the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.

Additional information will be released when it becomes available.

OSWEGO – At approximately 9:51 a.m. today, July 9, the Oswego City Police Department responded to a call of a deceased female in the lake off of Mercer Street between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street in the city of Oswego.

Oswego Police are investigating the incident.

Oswego Fire is on-scene assisting with removal of the deceased.

Specific circumstances of the death are unknown at this time as the investigation is in the very early stages.

Additional information will be released when it becomes available, according to Chief Tory DeCaire.
