OSWEGO – County residents will have a chance to speak on the proposed 2019 county budget early next month.
The tentative 2019 spending plan carries a zero percent tax rate increase.
Before legislators went through and made some reductions, the budget stood at $212,286,740.
That meant a tax rate of about 46 cents more per $1,000 of assed valuation. The owner of a $100,000 home would’ve paid about $46 in taxes next year.
Now the budget is down to $210,8 million, County Administrator Phil Church said.
“The generic tax rate is $7.70 per $1,000. That’s the same rate as the current year,” he added.
The public hearing on the budget will be held at 7 p.m. on December 13 in the Legislative Chambers at the Oswego County Office Building, 46 East Bridge St. in Oswego.
