OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning reminds residents of upcoming opportunities to learn more about updates to the County’s Comprehensive Plan.
The following open houses are scheduled:
Attendees will be able to view displays and presentations identifying opportunities for Oswego County to grow and prosper. These informal public meetings are planned so that people can come and go at their convenience, review the plans, discuss and ask questions with planning committee members, and provide input on proposals.
Various topics will be up for discussion, including the environment, parks and recreation, tourism, historic preservation, agriculture, business, economic development, social services, public health, education, community facilities, transportation, housing and infrastructure.
Light refreshments will be provided at each open house.
Residents can also participate in a survey that will help develop this countywide vision. The survey takes 15 minutes to complete and simply asks participants about living in Oswego County. The Oswego County Comprehensive Plan is an essential feature of long-term planning for the county and its municipalities. It helps create a broad vision for future land uses and outlines strategies for public investment in infrastructure, housing, economic development, environmental protection and overall quality of life. It is intended to help Oswego County and its community partners apply for grant funding for improvement and development projects.
Earlier this year, the County retained the services of EDR, an engineering and environmental services company, to aid the Oswego County Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee in gathering and analyzing data to ensure thorough updates to the plan.
