TRAVEL ADVISORY Lane Closures on I-690 Eastbound in the Town of Geddes

by Contributor | September 14, 2021 9:53 am

The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting motorists to the closure of the two left lanes on I-690 eastbound from John Glenn Boulevard to the bridge crossing the CSX railroad tracks just east of State Fair Boulevard on Wednesday, September 15, through Saturday, September 18, in the Town of Geddes, Onondaga County.
The closures are necessary to facilitate bridge deck repairs. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on I-690 eastbound for the duration of the repairs which are contingent upon the weather.

Motorists are urged to slow down and safely move over when driving through highway work zones and whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
