OSWEGO COUNTY – On October 7, 2024, at about 7:02 p.m., State Police responded to State Route 69 in the village of Parish for a pedestrian on a scooter struck by a vehicle.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2021 BMW operated by Jamie J. Hilton, age 42, from Parish, NY, was traveling west on State Route 69, when she struck a pedestrian on a scooter in the roadway traveling in the same direction. The pedestrian was identified as Matthew J. Lavaway, age 35, from Parish, NY.
Lavaway was transported to Upstate Hospital listed in critical condition.
The investigation is continuing.
