UPDATE: State Police Investigate One-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 81

On September 3, 2025, State Police arrested Randasha A. Bailey, age 25, of Parish, NY, the operator of a 2006 Ford Explorer involved in a rollover crash on July 16, 2025, on Interstate 81 in the town of Hastings, for 1192.4-A Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI) by the combined influence of drugs or alcohol and drugs.

A toxicology report revealed the presence of cannabis and a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.15%.

Bailey was issued tickets for the following:

•    No License

•    Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree

•    Improper Passing on the Right

•    Moved from Lane Unsafely

•    Failed to Use Designated Lane

•    Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent

•    Reckless Driving

•    Drinking Alcohol or Using Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle on a Highway

•    No Seat Belt

 

Bailey was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego County CAP Court on September 15, 2025.

Hastings, NY – On July 16, 2025, at about 6:12 p.m., New York State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 southbound.

A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle, operated by a single female sole occupant, was traveling northbound on Interstate 81 when it crossed into the median, overturned multiple times, and came to rest in the center of the southbound lane.

The operator was transported to Upstate Hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
