OSWEGO COUNTY – The National Weather Service[1] has issued a Winter Storm Warning[2] for all of of western and north Central New York, including Oswego County from 7 p.m. Monday to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the NWS, there is heavy snow expected – 6 to 11 inches total accumulation. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
The NWS forecast (Oswego County Airport, Fulton) is as follows:
Monday: Occasional snow, mainly after 10 a.m. High near 26. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Monday night: Snow. Low around 20. Northeast wind 6 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Tuesday: Snow, mainly before 1 p.m. High near 22. Northeast wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
Tuesday night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. North wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
