OSWEGO COUN TY – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for northern Oswego and Cayuga counties, including Oswego and Fair Haven, effective from 7 p.m. this evening to 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
The NWS expects lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and
visibilities.
The NWS forecast (Oswego County Airport, Fulton) is as follows:
This Afternoon: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 28. Breezy, with a west wind around 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 3 a.m. Low around 12. Breezy, with a northwest wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Wednesday: A chance of snow showers before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of snow showers after 4 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 23. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.
