OSWEGO COUNTY – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory[1] for Oswego County beginning tonight (Monday) at 1 a.m. until Wednesday at 10 a.m.
The NWS expects total snow accumulations to be between 4 and 6 inches with the greatest amount of snowfall in the southern portion of the county.
According to the NWS, drivers should plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions with reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute on Tuesday. Slow down and use caution while driving.

According to the National Wether Service, at 7:49 a.m., today (Tuesday) an area of heavy snow extended from southern portions of Oswego county across much of central and southern Lewis county.
Locations impacted include: Fulton, Lowville, Central Square, Redfield, Highmarket, Battle Island State Park, Whetstone Gulf State Park, Brewerton, Hastings, Volney, Constantia, West Monroe, Palermo, Denmark, New Bremen, Phoenix, Watson, Martinsburg, Williamstown and Lyonsdale.
This includes Interstate 81 between exits 32 and 34.
Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this area of heavy snow. Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are possible.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
