Nila Fay Gauger, 77, of Hannibal, died Sunday at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Natural Bridge, she was a 54 year resident of Hannibal. Nila had attended South Hannibal Federated Church. She was a former member of the Home Bureau in the Cato area. Known as the elf of Keller Road, Nila loved to crochet and had made mittens and hats for many families.
On August 22, Nila and her husband Eugene, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
She was predeceased by six siblings.
Surviving: her husband, Eugene B. Gauger, Sr.; six sons, Eugene B. Gauger, Jr. of Hannibal, Gordon C. Gauger of Maumee, OH, Todd C. Gauger of Hannibal, Timothy C. Gauger of Hannibal, Darren K. Gauger of Rochester and Ted C. Gauger of Fair Haven; a daughter, Melissa Getman of Hannibal; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services are Friday 10 a.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. Burial will be at Ira Union Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
