Nominations for 2014 Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award Due July 10

The deadline for submitting nominations to the Zonta Club of Oswego for the Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award is July 10. This is the 30th anniversary of the award which is presented annually to a women whose hard work and dedication has made a difference in the lives of families in the Oswego community.

As a save the date, note that the 2014 Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Dinner will be held at the American Foundry Restaurant, Route 104, Oswego, on September 26.

Sponsors are also being solicited for the event, the proceeds of which are used to fund Zonta scholarships.

Amelia Earhart was a member of Zonta International from 1928 until her death in 1937.

Earhart is quoted as saying “ better do a good deed near at home than go far away to burn incense.”

Indeed this award honors a woman whose community service involvement has positively impacted Oswego County.
