Nominations Invited for Student Civic Engagement Awards

Submitted by SUNY Oswego

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s Civic Engagement Coalition is inviting greater Oswego community nominations, as well as those from faculty, staff and students, for three awards recognizing outstanding student efforts to work toward real change in their local, regional, national and international communities.

The three awards include Agent of Change, Civic Leadership and Organizational Civic Leadership. Respectively, they honor students’ efforts to tackle a specific campus or community problem, sustained student leadership in civic affairs and sustained community engagement by a student organization.

“We are very pleased to be able to continue to recognize the remarkable accomplishments of our students and organizations to address problems and provide solutions,” said Thad Mantaro, SUNY Oswego’s civic engagement coordinator.

The deadline for nominations or applications is Tuesday, April 5. Winners will be honored during the Student Involvement Awards on Wednesday, April 27.

Fuller descriptions of the three awards, as well as nomination forms and procedures, are available from the Civic Engagement Awards link at
