Norma Hibbert, 91


OSWEGO, NY – Norma Hibbert, 91, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2012, at Sunrise Nursing Home.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Frances (Myers) Greene.

Norma worked at Columbia Mills, Puritan Clothing Store, East Side Variety Store and she retired from Fay’s Drug Store.

She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Bowlers’ Hall of Fame.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Johnson and Carol Knopp, both of Oswego; a son, Edward (Pat) Hibbert of Smyrna, Delaware; three sisters, Irene Blake of Scriba, Donna Kirkman of Oswego and Margaret Crisafulli of Oswego; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Frank; a granddaughter, Patricia Semmens; and a son-in-law, John Knopp.

Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

    MARG, DONNA & ELAINE – SORRY TO HEAR OF NORMA’S PASSING. I HAD NOT SEEN HER IN SOMETIME. WOULD HAVE VISISTED HER, IF I KNEW SHE WAS IN A NURSING HOME. HAD PLANNED ON GOING TO FUNERAL HOME, BUT HAVE FAMILY FROM OUT-OF-TOWN HERE NOW. DON’T KNOW THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY, BUT MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THEM TOO.
