Novelis Partners with Tri-Oswego 2011 Triathlon

Novelis has partnered with the Tri-Oswego 2011 Triathlon as the presenting sponsor of the race event scheduled for June 25th and 26th in Oswego. Oswego, NY – Novelis has partnered with the Tri-Oswego 2011 Triathlon as the presenting sponsor of the upcoming event scheduled for June 25th and 26th in Oswego, according to Tri-Oswego Race Director Ron Nelson.

“We’re very pleased to have the support of Novelis as our presenting sponsor,” said Nelson. “Their enthusiasm for the event has been wonderful, and the Tri-Oswego 2011 Triathlon Committee greatly appreciates the partnership. “Novelis has long been a community advocate, and their commitment to our event broadens even further their strong outreach,” he added.

The USA Triathlon sanctioned event will include a Sprint Tri, Intermediate Tri, and Sprint Relay Tri event on Sunday, June 26th, and youth are encouraged to sign up for events and activities that will take place a day earlier on Saturday, June 25th.

“Novelis is excited to partner with the Tri-Oswego 2011 weekend,” said Luc Boivin, Novelis Oswego Works Manager. “We’re very pleased to be able to support the event, and we are working closely with the event committee to make it a great success.“We anticipate a wonderful weekend, and look forward to welcoming visiting triathletes to the Oswego community for all of the racing activities and family events – including the Novelis Fun Run,” he added.

According to Nelson, the Novelis Fun Run complements a number of youth activities scheduled including: Youth Bicycle Rodeo, Zumba and Yoga for kids, Race Banner making, Kite flying, Inflatable Bounce Houses, and more.

Novelis’ aluminum recycling program and educational initiatives will also be showcased as part of the Sustainability Expo that is scheduled for the Tri-Oswego weekend.

Participants that register early will have an opportunity to save on their entry. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance are $75.00 from March 1, 2011 – April 30, 2011; and $85.00 from May 1, 2011 – June 12, 2011.

Registration fees for the Intermediate Distance are $80 before March 1, 2011; $90.00 from March 1, 2011 – April 30, 2011; and $100.00 from May 1, 2011 – June 12, 2011. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance Relay are $100.00 from March 1, 2011 – April 30, 2011; and $110.00 from May 1, 2011 – June 12, 2011.
