FULTON, NY – Continuing its tradition of providing significant support to the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Campaign, Novelis’ employee campaign is once again on track to meet its goal.
Mike Anthony, campaign coordinator for the Novelis Employee Campaign, in support of the United Way recently met with Resource Development Director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, Lois Luber to discuss the progress of Novelis’ campaign.
With their campaign well under way, Anthony said that Novelis’ campaign is doing better than expected and should finish well ahead of its goal and raise more than $72,000 for the United Way.
Luber praised the employees of Novelis and was impressed by the overwhelming support that they have shown for those less fortunate in Oswego County by supporting their United Way.
“We recognize and appreciate all that Novelis employees and corporate does for the people of Oswego County,†said Luber. “Mike and Dick Delaney are doing a wonderful job with the employee campaign. Their enthusiasm for the United Way and their dedication to the success of the Novelis campaign play an important role as they inspire their fellow employees to give back to the community by supporting their local United Way. Their efforts to share the mission of the United Way and the encouragement they receive from the Novelis Corporation are truly commendable as the donations that we receive from Novelis’ Employee Campaign and from Novelis corporate have a significant impact on the success of our annual campaign.â€Â
With Novelis’ campaign past its half way point, Anthony is looking forward to seeing just how far ahead of its goal the campaign will finish when the final numbers come in.
“This year the importance of the United Way campaign hit close to home as one of our own had a devastating house fire which resulted in a total loss. By the time they were released from the hospital the Red Cross was already waiting to aid the family. The employee affected shared this emotional message with as many workers as possible. It showed the employees that anyone might someday need the services of the United Way, not necessarily just those who are less fortunate. Even during these economic hard times the Novelis family recognizes the hardships endured by our community and have stepped up by offering a helping hand. It makes me very proud to be associated with the employees at Novelis,†said Anthony.
Delaney is also pleased with the progress of the campaign and praised his co-workers for their support of the United Way.
“At Novelis we feel strongly about acting on our sense of giving and caring about Oswego County. We take pride in our support of the United Way. Our values on continuous improvement in our business spill over to our commitment for improvement in our programs that support our Community. By keeping community first, we have a sense of belonging that will enhance our feelings towards others and give us a feeling of pride! It’s caring for others… it’s caring to make a difference…and it’s caring to do something for Oswego County. I am proud to work with so many people that are willing to give back to the community,†said Delaney.
