The New York State Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on June 26 regarding a culvert replacement project on routes 3 and 104 over Black Creek in the village of Mexico.
The open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Mexico High School library, located at 3338 Main St.
Preliminary drawings for the upcoming project will be available for review and representatives from NYSDOT will be present to answer questions.
No formal presentation is planned.
The culvert is located in the village of Mexico between Wayne Street and Scenic Avenue.
It carries a twelve-foot lane and an eight-foot shoulder in each direction over Black Creek.
The average daily traffic is 8,400 vehicles.
Preliminary plans call for the culvert to be closed to all vehicular traffic during construction, with an off-site detour provided for through traffic using state routes 3 and 104B.
Nearby village streets are available for local traffic.
Pedestrian access on the culvert will be maintained throughout construction.
Work is expected to take place during the summer of 2015.
This open house is part of the continuing effort by the department to encourage public participation into the development of transportation projects.
The Mexico High School library is handicapped accessible.
Please contact Nick DeCirce, P.E. at (315) 428-3249 if a sign language interpreter, assisted listening system or other accommodation will be required to facilitate your participation in the open house.
