Bernie Dennison passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 in Solvang, Calif.

He was born July 12, 1928, in Hannibal, NY, to Harvey and Ruth Parker Dennison.

He entered the U.S. Army during World War II.

Bernie served in Italy as an infantryman in the First Armored Division and then, in the Korean War, as an infantryman in the Second Division.

In 1948 he married Vivian (Kohler) Dennison of Solvay.

They had four children: Louis, Lorraine, Ross and Jim.

In 1968, they moved to California.

Bernie worked as a cabinet maker and carpenter in both Syracuse and the Santa Ynez Valley/Santa Barbara area.

The Dennisons also owned and operated the Pee Wee Miniature Golf Course in Solvang during the 1970s and 1980s.

After retirement, he enjoyed working with wood in his own workshop and also researching family genealogies.

They enjoyed traveling in their RV with the Escape RV club.

Bernie is fondly remembered for his contagious smile, joyful heart, wit and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Vivian; son, Louis (Rose) Dennison; daughter, Lorraine Anthony; sister-in-law, Joan Dennison; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sons, Ross and Jim; sister, Gladys; brother, Victor; sister, Helen; and brother, Luther.

Bernie will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that he is at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
