Beryl Scruton, 87

Beryl Scruton, 87, of Hannibal, died Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. A native of Oswego, she was a life resident of the Hannibal-Oswego area. Beryl was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly loved and will be dearly missed. She enjoyed weekend family gatherings, camping and traveling. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 2003; children, Cheri Scruton, Joyce Johnson, Carl “Len” and Gary Scruton; grandson, Jesse Scruton and brother, Charles Weber.

Surviving are her children, Walter “Bud”, Connie, Dawn (Ron) Greenleaf, Tom, Kathy Scanlin, Jack (Cindy) and Betty-Jo Dumas; 31 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Brower, Shirley (John) Spano and Dorothy (Don) Griswold; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. with services immediately following at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
