CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Charles E. Drake, 76, of Clarksville, Tenn., died Saturday Feb. 13, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Drake was born in Oswego on Aug. 27, 1933, the son of the late Garnet and Laura (Parkhurst) Drake.
He had worked at the Alcan Aluminum plant in Scriba and, after retiring, settled down in Clarksville.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Navy.
Chuck was a very talented and popular musician, and had his own band for 35 years.
During that time, family and friends enjoyed hearing his music both locally and in the surrounding counties.
He took special pride in his cars, trucks and motorcycle.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Paul Drake Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara McLaggan Drake of Tennessee; sons, Charles “Dick†(Lisa) Drake of Oswego and Trent Drake of Fulton; daughters, Darnece Tetrev of Lagrange, Ill., Melinda (Rich) Davies of Pulaski and Lorena (Mike) Malone of Hannibal; sisters, Audrey (Robert) Lawton of Surprise, Ariz. and Sherry Rice of Oswego;17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
No services were planned.
McReynolds – Nave and Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville had charge of arrangements.
