FULTON, NY – Deborah M. Wallace, 53, of Fulton, died Saturday Oct. 27, 2007, at Oswego Hospital, after a long illness.
She was born in Syracuse, to the late Dorothea and Raymond Wallace.
She has been a resident of Fulton for all of her life.
Debbie was a substitute teacher for the Fulton Consolidated School District and Phoenix School District.
Debbie was a civic leader for the community locally, regionally and statewide.
She was a member of the NY State Jaycees and chaired numerous projects recognized statewide and nationally.
Her offices included US congress woman, district director, regional secretary for governors, governor general, international senator: (the highest award a Jaycee can achieve,) and governess for the past NY state Jaycee president.
She was instrumental in past Memorial Day salutes, city-wide Halloween party and class reunions.
Debbie is survived by three brothers, Thomas Wallace of Henderson Harbor, Francis Wallace of Fulton, and Marty Wallace of Oswego; two sisters, Darlene Bolen of Fulton and Amanda Brown of Oswego.
Debbie was a loving aunt of 12 nieces and nephews: Laura Ruth, Carolyn, Tommy, Kimberly, Jimmy, Katelyn, Brennan, Ashley, Jeffrey, Christopher, Millie and Colton; and two great-nieces: Schally and Curnin.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be conducted from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Sugar Funeral Home.
