Francis ‘Frank’ Jerome Meleski

Francis “Frank” Jerome Meleski, 87, born August 23, 1929, of Harrisonburg, Va., formally from Cleveland, NY, passed away, Sunday, June 25, 2017.

A celebration of life mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday August 26, at St John the Evangelist Church, 35 Third St., Camden, NY, with Rev. R. Paul Mathis officiating.

Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at the Lakewood Cemetery, Cleveland, NY.

Frank took great pride in being in the first graduation class of Le Moyne College where is met his future wife of 59 years, Virginia Lee Howard.

He was employed Webb Lumber, Bernhard’s Bay, NY.

After the lumber mill closed, he became self-employed selling farm fasteners and was known as the “Bolt Man.”

Once retired, he and his wife moved to the Elkton/Harrisonburg, Va., area.

Frank is survived by his six children: Linda Eastman and her husband, John, Brady from Pittsburg, Pa., Karen Meleski from Geneseo, NY, Ellen Fortunato, Binghamton, NY, Frank Meleski Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, from Copenhagen, NY, Mike Meleski from Elmira, NY,and Margaret Yates and her husband, Dan from Portland, Oregon; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, David and Audrey Meleski from California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, on Aug. 15, 2011.

Donations can be made to a favorite charity of choice.
