Edward J. Hanson Sr., 82

PHOENIX, NY – Edward J. Hanson Sr. 82, of Phoenix, NY, passed away at home with his family by his side on Saturday Feb. 3, 2018.

He was born in Oswego, NY, to his late parents, Mary (Genova) and Raymond Hanson on March 3, 1935.

He was the owner/operator for Hanson’s Towing Service and AAA rep. for 49 years.

Memberships include: Phoenix Lions Club, American Legion 418, Elks Club.

Ed was a talented artist and avid sportsman.

He was predeceased by his son, Michael Hanson, in 1985.

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Carlene A. (Hawksby) Hanson; his children, Cheryl (Ron) Makepeace, Mark E. (Lucy) Hanson and Edward C. Hanson; seven
grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.

A graveside service will be in the Spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, announced at a later date.
