FULTON – Gordon D. Woodward, Jr., 82, of Fulton passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York surrounded by his loving family. Gordon was born in Fulton on October 27, 1942 to Gordon and Lillian (Hammond) Woodward and was a graduate of Fulton High School. After serving in the Navy, he was a devoted employee of the Nestle Company in Fulton for 35 years where he worked as a boiler operator and retired after the plant closed. He loved baseball, was a fan of the NY Yankees and a collector of baseball cards. Gordon enjoyed classic (fast) cars and listening to Motown music.
Gordon loved his family and his country immensely and was a devoted husband and father. He was a wonderful grandfather and his grandchildren will carry his many, many stories in their hearts forever.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Linda (Pelton) Woodward; his two daughters, Melissa Olcott of Fulton and Melinda (Todd) Hadlow of Oswego; his five grandchildren, PJ, Katie, Zachary, Olivia, and Jack; a great granddaughter, Abigail; his brother, Charles Woodward of Fulton as well as several nieces and two nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Mayor Ronald Woodward, Sr., of Fulton in 2021.
Gordon will forever be remembered by those who loved him for his relentless positivity and kindness.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with services to follow on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton.
