FULTON – Jane G. Deavers, 94, of Fulton, New York formerly of Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026. She was born June 16, 1931, in Mineral, Virginia to Frank and Elsie Webb Towsey. Jane distinguished herself through a remarkable career at what is now Verizon Telephone Company, where she rose from an Operator to become the first woman to hold a second-level supervisory position in the state of Virginia—an achievement of which she was deeply proud. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband Arthur Lee Deavers, and her brother Frank Towsey, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive, Fulton. There will be a celebration of life beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Mimi’s in Fulton.  Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, Virginia.
