Betty E. Gioia, 86

OSWEGO, NY – Betty E. Gioia, 86, of Oswego, died Sunday morning December 24, 2017, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.
Mrs. Gioia was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Hilda Zischke Geers.
She was the widow of the late Stephen Gioia Sr., who died in 1997.
Mrs. Gioia was a lifetime member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
She was a sports enthusiast and an avid Oswego Speedway fan.
She was a member of the City of Oswego Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Kathy A. (Marge Meyer) Gioia of Sodus; sons, Stephen (Sue) Gioia and Donald (Chris) Gioia both of Oswego; four grandchildren, Chad Gioia, Stephen Gioia III, Chelsea (John) Randall and Stacy Gioia; and one great-grandson, Max Randall.
Funeral services will take place 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church.
Calling hours will be held Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
