Betty A. Murray

OSWEGO, NY – Betty A. Murray, 55, passed away on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011, in Oswego.

Born in Oswego, she was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Betty was a home health aide for 10 years and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer (Alden) Dykes of Oswego; her stepfather, Mel Haynes of Oswego; three sisters, Patti (Ted) Powers of Oswego, Bonnie Coe-Solazzo of Florida and Michelle (Jeff) LaBouef of Lycoming; a brother, Randy Haynes of Mexico; two grandchildren, Brianna Thomas and Aliyah Dykes; and her significant other, William Carter Jr.

She was predeceased by her mother, Lois (Ware) Haynes; and her brother, Melvin Haynes.

Memorial services will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home with a calling hour from 5-6 p.m. prior to the service.
