OSWEGO, NY – Frances K. James, 81, a lifelong resident of Oswego and former resident of Ontario Street, passed away Friday November 24, 2017, at Seneca Hill Manor.

Born November 13, 1936, Frances was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Keating) Feeney.
She attended St. Mary’s School and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Frances was employed for many years by Wayne’s Drugs, and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
“Fran,” as she was lovingly known to all, was a dedicated homemaker and grandmother, fond of cooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are Fran’s husband of 60 years, Donald F. James; two daughters, Carol (John) Cook and Ann Marie (David) Zaryski, both of Oswego; two sons, Michael (Rebecca) James of Oswego and David (Susan) James of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and two sisters, Maryanne Stergius, and Laura (Jim) Murphy, both of Oswego.
Frances is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Matthew Cook, Kristin Zaryski, Carrie (Stephen) Evanchik, James Cook, Laura Zaryski, Evan James, Owen James, Liam James and Alia James; and by great-grandchild, James Henry Evanchik.
She was predeceased by her brother, Patrick (Jean) Feeney; sister, Theresa (Robert) Hamm; and granddaughter, Eva James.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Human Concerns Center, 85 E. Fourth St., Oswego, NY 13126.
Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
