OSWEGO, NY – Fred J. “Pinky” Chwalek, 92, a resident of 56 Valley View Drive, Oswego, passed away on Thursday Feb. 24, 2011, at University Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late John C. and Katherine (Sudol) Chwalek.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School and Rochester Business Institute.
He was an electrician and was a member of the #328 #B43 union for 70 years.
He was associated with the City Appliance Center for more than 25 years.
Mr. Chwalek was a veteran of World War II serving in the infantry of the United States Army.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge #271 and a former member of the Knight of Columbus #227.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Mary (Stone) Chwalek; a brother, John (Mary) Chwalek of Oswego; and two daughters, Elizabeth Powers and Constance Chwalek of East Syracuse.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
