Gary L. ‘Gibby’ Ouderkirk

OSWEGO, NY – Gary L. ‘Gibby’ Ouderkirk, 54, a resident of 224 E. Fifth St., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 14, 2010, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Leonard and Betty (McCracken) Ouderkirk.

He was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Gibby was a member of Laborers’ Local #214 for 25 years.

Mr. Ouderkirk was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Coral Sea during Vietnam.

Surviving are two brothers, Leonard Ouderkirk Jr. of Fulton and Douglas Ouderkirk of Oswego; two sisters, Susan Phelps of Syracuse and Wendy Geroux of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Ouderkirk.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. from the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Spring burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.

Contributions may be to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
