Mary Pat was a graduate of St. Paul’s Academy and Oswego High School and also did computer studies at B.O.C.E.S.

She had been employed as a cost analyst with the Stone and Webster Engineering Company for 17 years.

Although diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at a young age, Mary Pat embraced life and took advantage of the many opportunities it provided her.

She enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, playing pool and playing the guitar. She enjoyed working with leather. Many times she would give gifts of leather belts that she had designed and decorated by hand to friends and family.

She was also an amateur photographer. She and her sister, Margaret, would take trips to different destinations so Pat could snap photos.

She enjoyed the computer and creating garments on her knitting machine. She, along with her husband Jim, enjoyed playing Duplicate Contract Bridge and frequently attended the Monday night games at the McCrobie Building.

Beside her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Diane Miner Keiffer and her husband John of Clifton Springs and Margaret Miner Kocher and her husband Brian of Oswego; her niece, Erika Kocher; her mother-in-law Muriel Cole; and two brothers-in-law, Mark Cole of Oswego and David Cole and his family of Monument, Colorado.

She was predeceased by her husband, James A. Cole Jr. and her father James Miner, both of whom passed away in 2008.

She will be remembered for her kind soul, her sense of humor and her bravery. Never one to complain, Mary Pat was an example to all on how to live a life well and with dignity.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.

Entombment will be in All Saint’s Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.

The family requests that any contributions be made to Oswego Hospital.
