OSWEGO, NY – Sylvester D. Goodrich, 92, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Tuesday Aug. 2, 2011, in Florida.
Born in Canastota NY, he was a son of the late DeEarl and Hazel (Dobson) Goodrich.
He was a graduate of the Cleveland High School.
He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in education from the State University at Oswego.
He was a teacher of industrial arts at Oswego High School for more than 30 years.
Mr. Goodrich was a member of the Navy Seabees serving in the European Theatre during World War II.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to travel.
Surviving are his daughter, Beth Goodrich of Oswego; three sons, Gary (Shawn) Goodrich of Palm Coast, Fla., Robert (Judith) Goodrich and Thomas (Bouchra) Goodrich both of Cape Coral, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice (Kieper) Goodrich, in 1995.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
