Verne C. Upcraft, 82

OSWEGO, NY – Verne C. Upcraft, 82, a resident of Shady Lane passed away on Friday December 7, 2012, at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Will and Anna (Parkhurst) Upcraft and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
He was employed with Niagara Mohawk for 38 years and was an active member of the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
He was also a member of the Niagara Mohawk 25 Year Club and the Niagara Mohawk Retirees Club.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Lucille Davis; three daughters, Kathleen (David) Duschen of North Scriba, Karen (Douglas) McIntyre of Oswego and Kimberly Upcraft of Rochester; a sister, Ann Krackhel of Lycoming; a stepdaughter, Lori (Jeff) Darr of Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Carol Delaney of Oswego; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Verne was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (LaGasse) Upcraft, in 1987; a brother, Wayne Upcraft; and his stepfather, Leo Dillenbeck.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
Spring burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lycoming United Methodist Church.
