Charles “Chuck” Hall, 84

Charles “Chuck” Hall, 84 of Lycoming, died Saturday after a brief illness.

Born in Cooperstown, he had resided there for 25 years before moving to Oswego in 1952. He was a meat cutter and manager at Loblaws in Oswego for 25 years, then assistant meat manager at Price Chopper in Fulton for two years and retired as meat manager at Eddie’s Big M in Mexico after 11 years.

Chuck was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the 3rd Fleet. While in service he was wounded and treated in a M.A.S.H. Unit on Guam.

After moving to Oswego, he joined the Masonic Fraternity and became Master of Mexico Lodge #136 F.&A.M.; High Priest of Mexico Chapter #135 R.A.M.; Illustrious Master of Fulton Council #50 R.&S.M. and Commander of Lake Ontario Commandery #32 K.T.  Chuck was a Knight of the York Cross of Honour; member of York Rite College #27 and served as a Grand Representative to the State of Texas.

Surviving is his wife, the former Betty Boettcher Hall of Lycoming, who he married November 1, 1947 and by their son, Douglas Hall of Lycoming, plus cousins in Cooperstown.
