FULTON, NY – Elaine P. Violando, 73, of Bowens Corners, passed away on Friday October 13, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born Elaine Rose Parker on November 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Alton and Gelia Kling Parker.
Elaine graduated from Boonville High School in 1961 and then attended Alfred University.
On June 1, 1963, she married Dale Elwood Violando where her father presided over their wedding in Hamilton, NY.
Elaine retired in 2013 from Peerless Insurance Company in East Syracuse.
She had previously worked at Hanover Insurance Company in Syracuse and Black Clawson in Fulton.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Dale, in 1991; brother, William C. Parker, in 2004; and her lifelong friend, Patricia A. Spencer of Boonville, in 2013.
Surviving are her children, Catherine Violando of Liverpool, Lisa (David) Tice of Fulton, Cheryl (Bud) Johnson of Fulton and Michael (Edwin) Violando of Halfmoon; five grandchildren, Brandon Michael Tice, Emily Rose Tice, Sean-Michael Violando, Mark Johnson and Rachel (Matt) Schooley; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Genevieve and William Schooley; many nieces and nephews; as well as her extended family and friends at Mimi’s in Fulton.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.
Burial will be private.
