Ernest J. Lynch, 55, of Pennellville lost his battle with Primary CNS Lymphoma, Thursday at home.

Born in Syracuse, he was a resident of Norfolk, Virginia until moving to Pennellville six months ago to be with his family. Ernie was a Navy veteran serving over 20 years reaching the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He had served on the USS Nimitz, Kitty Hawk and Theodore Roosevelt. He had also served a tour of duty in Rota, Spain. Ernie was a member of the American Legion in Norfolk, VA.

He was predeceased by his father, William Lynch, who died November 14, 2008.

Surviving: his wife of 31 years, Elaine D. Lynch; twin daughters, Dianna Lee and Dawn Marie Lynch of Pennellville; mother, Nettie Lynch; granddaughter, Jamie Elizabeth Pergrem; four sisters; five brothers; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a 1 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Following services the family would like to invite everyone to the Phoenix American Legion for a reception.

The family would like to thank the Phoenix American Legion Post 418 for the contributions and benefit for Ernie.
