John David Halstead Jr., 44

FULTON, NY – John David Halstead Jr., 44, of Fulton, died suddenly as a result of a construction accident in the town of Oswego on Tuesday June 11, 2013.

He had worked at U.P.S. Freight in East Syracuse for 17 years.

Dave was an avid race car driver and auto mechanic and enjoyed auto racing, hunting and fishing.

His greatest joy in life was his children.

Surviving are his children, Hannah and John David Halstead III; his father and stepmother, David (Joann) Halstead; mother and stepfather, Beverly (Don) Wilcox; siblings, Heather (Ronald) Strickler, Lorrie Anderson, John (Jeannine) Merriam, Denise (Michael) Heagerty, Karen (Ron) Ford and Donald Wilcox Jr.; paternal grandparents, John (Gertrude) Halstead; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, with services at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery in Hannibal.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his children c/o David Halstead, 70 S. Eleventh St., Fulton, NY 13069.
