Leo F. “Nipper” Heaphy, 71, fo Phoenix, NY, died on Tuesday July 5, 2011.
Born in Syracuse, to his late parents, Thomas & Leona (Delaney) Heaphy. A graduate of J. C. Birldlebough High School, Phoenix. Later an Army Reservist. Nipper worked for New Venture Gear Co., Syracuse, retiring in 2001. He was a former assistant chief for Palermo Vol. Fire Dept.; a driver for Meals on Wheels; assisted at St. John’s Church food pantry.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Karen E. (Flood) Heaphy; four daughters, Tammy (Brian) Woodard, April Warner, Robyn (Frank) Mc Cann, Wendy (Mark) Raulli; two brothers, Thomas Heaphy and James (Pat) Heaphy; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial church mass will be on Saturday July 9, at 11:30 am at St. John’s Church, 8290 Soule Rd., Liverpool, NY 13090. Leo’s body was donated to science.
