Lucy Soukey, 94, formerly of Fulton, passed away Tuesday at Pontiac Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Oswego, Mrs. Soukey had resided in Fulton most of her life. She was the daughter of Ignazio and Marguerite Genoa. Mrs. Soukey was a 1939 graduate of Oswego State Teachers College in Oswego and had taught at the Fulton Junior High School and Fairgrieve Elementary School from 1958 to 1973.
She was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Fulton. She was a member of the Fulton Garden Club; the Fulton Historical Society; the Fulton Women’s Club and the Fulton, Volney and Granby Senior Citizens.
She was the widow of Francis J. Soukey, who passed away in 1993 and was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Hanson and Lena Alfieri.
She has three sons, William J. Soukey of Connecticut, Francis J. Soukey of Delaware and John L. Soukey of Fulton; two daughters, Lucy Ann Mansfield of Liverpool and Christine Lamphere of Fulton; two sisters, Rose Brown and Louise King; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Entombment at All Saints Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oswego. There will be no calling hours. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton has charge of arrangements.
