FULTON, NY – Marian Louise Wilson, 95, went gladly to her reward of eternal life on Friday May 3, 2019.

Marian Louise Wilson

Marian was born in Cazenovia, NY, to Frederick Joseph Neadle and Bertha Mary Buyea, both of whom were previously widowed.

She was the second of five children from that marriage.

Her older brother, Frederick, and his wife, Barbara (Potts), predeceased her.

Her younger sister, Margaret (Roger) Berger of Albany, Oregon survives her.

Two others, Inez and Berenice, died in infancy.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Marian was predeceased by her husband, Larry; one son, Scott; and two grandchildren, Bruce Jr. and Christopher.

She grew up on farms in Madison County NY, where her father worked as a farmhand and at such employment as could be found during the Great Depression.

Despite social and economic turmoil of the period, she went to college at Morrisville with the full approval and support of her father and brother, which was quite unusual in those days.

She graduated in 1945 with a degree in nutrition that led her to become the staff dietician at Albert Lindley Lee Hospital in Fulton, a position she held for decades and executed with excellence.

Amongst the jobs she held while a student was assisting the “chow line” set up by the college for returning World War II serviceman.

She gave one man an extra scoop of mashed potatoes and won the heart of her husband-to-be (Larry Wilson) for the fifty-plus years they shared.

She gave life to ten children: Lawrence Alfred (Carolyn), Frederick Joseph (Ann), Bruce Lee (Heather), Kathleen (Gary) James, David Leslie (Sue), Marian Jean (James) Haven, Scott Dexter (late, Kathy), Thomas Edward (Darlene), Mark Anthony (Cathy) and Robert James (Alyssa).

The next three generations added 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her life was filled with love, much hard work, devotion, kindness, generosity, and stubbornness.

She loved to read.

The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to St. Luke’s for its consistently excellent care of Marian for many years and to Oswego Hospital for its kindness and support of her and her family during her final hours.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 10, from noon to 2 p.m. with a service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, NY.

Interment will be held at a later date, in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia, NY.
