Pamelajean (PJ) Walts, 61, of Palermo died Monday at University Hospital.

Born in Fulton she was a life resident of the Palermo – Fulton area. PJ was a line operator at Birdseye Foods in Fulton. She was previously employed as a line operator at Miller Brewery in Fulton. PJ obtained her LPN license and had previously worked at several local nursing homes and had volunteered as an EMT at McFee Ambulance in Mexico.

PJ’s passion was animal rehabilitation in which she had helped the New York State D.E.C. by caring for wounded animals. She was well known for giving everyone a second chance. PJ was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Finch and her soul mate, Ralph Walts.

Surviving: a daughter, Rhonda (Michael) Farrar of Phoenix; a son, Dwayne Walts of Palermo; four grandchildren, Michael II, Riley Ann, James and Andru; a sister, Linda Orton of Fulton; a brother, Herbert Hiscock of MI; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Spring burial will be at Roosevelt Cemetery.
