HANNIBAL, NY – Richard Lawrence Godfrey II, 49, a lifelong resident of Hannibal, passed away Thursday February 14, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Richard was born September 11, 1963, in Oswego and was a 1981 graduate of Hannibal High School.
He was previously employed at Nestlé Company for several years as a machine operator.
He had a passion for hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.
His greatest love was spending time with his family; he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Louise Godfrey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lisa Marie (Johnson) Godfrey; sons, Richard L. Godfrey III (Stephanie) and Robert A. Godfrey (Amanda); daughter, Rachel M. Godfrey (Vinny Morgan); sisters, Arlene Godfrey and Kary Wilcox; brother, Kenneth White; his maternal grandmother, Frances Dennison; two grandchildren, Olivia and Jaxson Godfrey; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Calling hours will be held Sunday 1 to 3 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, with services immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hannibal Fire Department, P.O. Box 252, Hannibal, 13074 or Friends of Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego 13126.
