FULTON, NY – Robert F. Goutermout, 56, of Fulton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born on May 28, 1960, in Fulton, a son to the late Francis and Joan Riano Goutermout.
For the past 24 years, Bob worked at the Town of Volney Highway Department, most recently as the Highway Deputy Superintendent.
He had a passion for racing on both dirt and asphalt tracks, including Fulton, Brewerton, Utica-Rome and Oswego speedways.
Over the years Bob enjoyed family camping trips, NASCAR races with his wife and just spending time with his family and friends.
Bob will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife of 38 years, Terri; two children, Tracie (Mike) Gioia of Oswego and Robert (Susan) Goutermout Jr. of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Rebeckah, Marissa, Cassandra, Kyle, Makayla, Shane, Tyler and Kristina; one sister, Cathy (Jon) DeStevens of Minetto; one brother, Bill (Mary) Goutermout of Fulton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
Burial will be in Roosevelt Cemetery, Schroeppel.
