FULTON – Karen M. Lovins, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at 82. She was born on May 5, 1943, in Malone, NY, to Albert and Iris DeCoste.
Karen will be fondly remembered for her sharp sense of humor, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was always ready with a listening ear, wise advice, and an open heart.
For nearly 40 years, Karen worked as a bartender in the Phoenix, NY, area, most of those years at the VFW Post 5540. Her warm personality and strong ties within the community earned her the affectionate title from her family, “The Unofficial Mayor of Phoenix, NY.” She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Lovins; her son, Patrick J. Lovins; and her grandson, Elvis R.J. Hart.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Reyome (Chuck); her children, Robin Tesoriero (James), Shawn Lovins (Lisa Bidwell), Kris Lovins (Laura Connelly), and Kelly Burden; her grandchildren, Amber Hammond (Jason), Cody Hart (Leann), Hannah Lovins, Josh Lovins, Dustin Burden, Kegan Lovins, and Jake Lovins; and her great-grandchildren, Bentley Hart, Serena Hart, and Iris Hart.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Karen’s honor on Saturday, July 19, at the VFW Post #5540 in Phoenix, NY.
