OSWEGO – Beatrice “Bea” L. Souva, 72, of Oswego, passed away on May 17, 2026.
Born in Sodus, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Sherman Sr. and Genevieve Carlisle.
Bea worked at Alcan for many years, where she broke barriers as the first female Forklift Operator at the Oswego plant. She was a creative baker who especially loved making beautiful wedding cakes. Bea had a kind and caring nature and always looked after others. She had a beautiful, open aura that drew others to her, and she easily made many friends. Above all else, Bea adored her family and cherished time spent together. She was truly the glue that held the family together.
Bea is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Thomas, and son Ryan (Lindsay Howard) Souva, as well as her siblings Dotty (Laird) Jenkins, Connie (Albert) Monroe, Mario (Aileen) Campanello, and Santa (Bert) Pitcher. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and their children, whom she adored dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harrison Sherman Jr. and his wife Sandra, and her sister Monica Stanley.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 3-5 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street. In celebration of Bea’s life and the support she gave so freely to others, the family welcomes donations to The Skatepark Project (skatepark.org/donate).
Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
