Brenda Jo Sagneri Mekeel

OSWEGO, NY – Brenda Jo Sagneri Mekeel, 55, of Oswego, died Aug. 17, 2023, at Strong Memorial in Rochester.

Brenda worked hard to support her family, she put in 17 yrs at Fulton Sunoco, and then for the last nine years she worked for Oswego County, cleaning. Brenda loved her family more than anything else and she was overjoyed and so very proud to become a grandmother.

Brenda preferred the quiet beauty of nature, enjoying gardening and simply sitting outside just to feel the breeze, watching butterflies and bumblebees and hummingbirds. Brenda’s interests were unique and varied, she enjoyed reading but she also liked things to do with fantasy such as fairies which she collected all her life, gnomes, butterflies and bees. She strongly believed in the power of crystals and also collected those. She liked attending festivals and gatherings that celebrated fantasy and all things mystical and whimsical.

Brenda was predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Neild, Sagneri) Fitzgerald; father Philip L. Sagneri; and brother Mark J. Sagneri.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Angelina L. Sagneri; grandsons Xander Micah & Oliver Quinn Sagneri; her sister Crystal(Sagneri) Burke; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services per Brenda’s wishes. However planting flowers in her honor would be a perfect remembrance.
