David J. Wallace

OSWEGO – David J. Wallace, 70, of Scriba, passed away on October 3, 2023.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Victory) Wallace.

David was a graduate of Oswego High School. He worked for Novelis as a Supervisor for many years and proudly retired in 2009. David enjoyed working on his farm and loved raising cattle. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and loved cruising and enjoying margaritas. David adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He also loved his Chocolate Lab, Wally.

David leaves behind his love, his peach Kim Petrie, as well as his children Lynne Wallace, Jeremy (Maureen) Wallace, Angela (Shawn) Mills, and Robert (Elizabeth) Holsinger II. He is also survived by his siblings Richard (Gloria) Wallace, Doug (Connie) Wallace, and Michelle (Richard) Smith, his beloved grandchildren Tyler, Taylor, Bailey, Anthony, Jack, Tyler, Bryce, and Bennett, and many nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters Margaret Smith, Barbara Chatterton, and Raejean Wallace.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 9th at Nelson Funeral Home.

Entombment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s name to the Oswego Animal Shelter, 621 East Seneca Street.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
